Two names come up constantly when people plan a Fort Myers Beach day: Lynn Hall Memorial Park and Beach Access 27. Right now only one of them is an option. Here is the comparison, and what changes when that flips.
Lynn Hall Memorial Park — closed
Lynn Hall has long been the most popular access point on the island: central, with full restrooms and showers, ADA-accessible parking, and parking right at the beach. It has been closed since around April 2026 for reconstruction following Hurricane Ian, with portable restrooms on site in the meantime.
The Town currently expects it to reopen in 2027. When it does, it goes back to being the easiest and most fully equipped option on Fort Myers Beach — worth checking on periodically if it has always been your spot. We will update this post when it happens.
Beach Access 27, Mango Street — open now
This is where we currently direct most Fort Myers Beach bookings. Before you go:
- $5 per hour parking plus a small transaction fee, paid through the Passport Parking app — the same app covers town lots across the island
- A small lot with far fewer spaces than Lynn Hall, including a designated handicap space
- No on-site restroom — plan a stop beforehand
- Drivers with a valid disability placard or plate park free in designated handicap spaces, or up to four hours free at a metered spot if those are full
It is smaller and less equipped than Lynn Hall. It also gets you onto exactly the same stretch of sand. The trade-off is facilities and capacity, not the beach.
The one thing that actually matters: the lot is small. Reserve your setup ahead rather than showing up and hoping, especially on a weekend in season.
So which one?
Until Lynn Hall reopens the honest answer is Beach Access 27, because it is the working option. The real planning question is not which access point — it is whether you have booked far enough ahead that parking is the only variable left.
