Nothing derails a beach day faster than circling for a spot. Bonita Beach parking is genuinely manageable if you know two things: what the main lot costs, and where to go the moment it fills. Here is both.
Bonita Beach Park — the main lot
This is the primary access point, directly across from our store, and where most of our cabana bookings start. Parking is $2 per hour, paid by licence plate through Lee County’s Text2Park system or at the on-site pay station — so you can top up from your chair without walking back to the car.
On site you will find:
- Full restrooms and outdoor showers, including ADA-accessible restrooms and showers
- Designated disability parking spaces near the boardwalk
- A boardwalk ramp running straight from the lot onto the sand — no steps
It is a well-equipped lot. It also fills, reliably, on weekends and through peak season — roughly January through April, plus holiday weekends.
When the lot is full: Barefoot Beach Preserve
Barefoot Beach Preserve is right next door and a short drive from our store, and honestly we prefer it to circling. The catch is that it sits in Collier County rather than Lee, so parking works differently:
- $10 flat fee per vehicle — not hourly, so a full day is cheaper here than at the main lot
- Free with a Collier County beach parking permit
- Open 8:00 AM to sunset
It is quieter and more natural than Bonita Beach Park — fewer facilities, more preserve. If you are staying past mid-afternoon, the flat fee often works out in your favour anyway.
The short version: arriving before 10:00 AM in season usually means the main lot. Arriving after, plan on Barefoot and save yourself the loop.
Four things that make the day smoother
- Go early or go late. Late morning through early afternoon is the busiest window, especially in season.
- Set up Text2Park before you arrive. Registering your plate curbside with a car behind you is nobody’s idea of a holiday.
- Know your backup before you need it. Deciding where to go while idling in a full lot is how a beach day turns into an argument.
- Parking is separate from your cabana. Beach parking is never included in a reservation, at any of our beaches — it is paid to the park, not to us.
Where we fit in
If you have booked a setup with us, the on-the-sand part is already handled — your cabana, chairs, table, cooler and towels are standing before you arrive. We text you the moment it is ready, and you text us when you are heading out. Parking is the one piece of the day still on you, which is exactly why it is worth thinking about for two minutes in advance.
