Bowman’s Beach
- Parking: $5/hour
- Accessibility: 7 handicap spaces — the most of any Sanibel beach access
- Facilities: Has changing rooms, a rarer amenity on the island
- Vibe: The walk from the lot to the sand takes about 10 minutes — a marked trail through wooded terrain, a footbridge, and over dunes before you reach the beach. It’s a natural crowd filter: miles of secluded white sand once you’re there, with plenty of room to spread out.
Bowman’s is the pick if you want more space to spread out and don’t mind a 10-minute walk in (a beach cart or wagon helps if you’re bringing a lot of gear or little ones — though if you’ve booked a cabana setup with us, we’re carrying the load, not you).
Gulfside City Beach Park
- Parking: $5/hour
- Accessibility: 3 handicap spaces
- Facilities: Standard beach park amenities
- Vibe: More central and convenient, with a shorter walk from car to sand
Gulfside is the better call if convenience matters more than seclusion, or if a shorter walk from the lot makes a real difference for your group.
Which One Should You Pick?
Choose Bowman’s Beach if: you want more space and a quieter stretch of sand, don’t mind a longer walk, and want the most handicap parking available on the island.
Choose Gulfside City Beach Park if: you want the shortest walk from parking to the water and a more straightforward setup.
