Coconuts (2255 W Gulf Dr) — Poolside service right next to the beach, with a full food menu and drink variety. Easy stop if you’re setting up near the west end of Gulf Drive.
Turtle’s Pool & Beach Bar (1451 Middle Gulf Dr) — Comfort food with genuinely great ocean views, and a happy hour locals talk about often.
Traditions on the Beach (3111 W Gulf Dr) — Known for sunset views and live music — a good pick if you’re timing your beach day to end around golden hour.
The Upper Deck Pool Bar (3345 W Gulf Dr) — Happy hour Wednesday and Friday, 5–7 PM.
Worth the Short Drive to Captiva
The Mucky Duck (11546 Andy Rosse Lane, Captiva Island) — A Sanibel/Captiva institution: British pub food and English-style ales, right near Captiva’s beach. Worth the drive north if you have the afternoon for it.
Off the Beach, Still Worth It
Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille (2500 Island Inn Rd) — Known for the Bayamo Black Bean Dip and a strong mojito lineup.
George & Wendy’s (2499 Periwinkle Way) — Laid-back, casual, with live music — good if you want something less beach-formal.
